Description:

The aim of the course is to introduce students to the basic principles of interpersonal communication and enable them to apply them in everyday interactions.
|
|
Learning outcomes:
|
- Analyze your own intra- and interpersonal communication patterns and learn and practice new ones
- Become aware of your own and others' needs that lie behind interpersonal communication
- Understand the influence of social roles and relationships on the communication process
- Differentiate answering styles and the consequences of each of them on the communication process
- Reflective/empathic listening and paraphrasing
- Differentiate between open and closed questions and their effect on communication
- Distinguish between aggression and assertiveness and deal assertively with criticism, anger, and setting boundaries
- Use basic conflict resolution and negotiation skills
